KIPP Texas Board Meeting | July 2, 2018
Public Comment Policy
KIPP Austin Public Schools is a district of public charter schools and as such, is governed by a Board of Directors. This group of 18 men and women meet approximately every other month, between September and June to discuss and vote on decisions that impact all 10 KIPP Austin Public Schools.
There is a public comment period at every board meeting where anyone from the community can speak before the board of directors. We are sharing more information about Board meetings and the community input process so that you know how you can participate and attend our Board meetings.
Public Comment Guidelines
The public comment portion of every Board of Directors’ meeting is 15 minutes long. Depending on the number of speakers, each person is allotted between 1 to 3 minutes to speak on any issue – related or not related to the meeting’s agenda.
If you’d like to come and speak at the Board of Directors meeting, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the meeting in order to sign-up, or sign up on our Public Comment Form (Formulario en Español), and receive instructions. Please note that Board members may ask clarifying questions about your comment to better understand a specific issue. However, due to Texas Public Meeting law, Board members may not engage in discussions or decisions regarding a public comment.
Please keep in mind that the total amount of the Public Comments period is 15 minutes and opportunities to speak will be given on a first-come-first-served basis.
The dates for the 2017-18 school year Board of Director meetings are listed on this page to your right.
